Beverly Mason, DVM

Beverly Mason, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Mason grew up and spent most of her life in the Boston area. She had the unique opportunity to live in the United Kingdom and attend a Welsh-speaking school during some of her childhood. She completed undergraduate studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the Accelerated Tufts Veterinary program, and then went on to obtain her doctor of veterinary medicine at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Mason comes to Dedham Veterinary Associates after 4 years as an associate veterinarian at a busy referral cat practice. She is proficient with dental procedures, laser surgery, and complex internal medicine cases.

Education:

  • BS in biology, with honors, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 1997

Areas of Special Interest:

  • Feline medicine—Loves even the most challenging cases
  • Surgery—Extensive experience with soft tissue surgery
  • Laser surgery—Proficient with the use of surgical lasers to reduce the pain, bleeding, and swelling of almost any type of surgery
  • Dentistry—Practicing the most up-to-date dental techniques including digital dental X-ray, surgical flap extractions, and preventative care

Dr. Mason resides in Southborough with her husband, two children, and a Havanese and rescued racing pigeon. When not working in veterinary medicine, she enjoys running, skiing, and hiking with her family.

Amy Kuo, DVM

Amy Kuo, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Amy Kuo grew up in Massachusetts in Sutton, near Worcester. She received both her bachelor of science in biology and her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Tufts University. After graduation, she completed a 13-month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.

Dr. Kuo practiced for 5 years on the south shore at a busy emergency referral hospital before joining Dedham Veterinary Associates in February 2008.

Dr. Kuo lives in Newton with her husband and their three daughters. When not working, she enjoys running, training for triathlons and riding her horse, Fairy.

Elaine Gilleece, DVM

Elaine Gilleece, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Gilleece was born and raised in the Roslindale/West Roxbury area of Boston. She completed her undergraduate studies at Simmons College in Boston with a degree in Biology. After graduation, she worked as a Microbiology technician in research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The research focused on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria and hospital-acquired infections. She was a coauthor on numerous research papers. She then went to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her doctor of veterinary medicine degree.

Dr. Gilleece comes to Dedham Veterinary Associates after practicing as an associate veterinarian at two other busy small animal practices in Natick and then in Dedham.

Areas of Special Interest:

  • Medicine—Working up challenging cases and geriatric cases
  • Surgery—Years of soft tissue experience including spays, neuters, cystotomies, removal of masses and laceration repairs

Dr. Gilleece lives in Dedham with her husband. Her pets include Princess, a Chihuahua mix adopted from the ARL in Dedham and Annie, a cat who was a former stray. When not working at the clinic she enjoys gardening, reading, working out at the gym, cross-country skiing and spending time at the Cape and in Maine. She also does volunteer work with the ARL Trap, Neuter, Release Program.

Naomi Auerbach, BSc, DVM

Naomi Auerbach, BSc, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Auerbach grew up in Jerusalem, Israel and earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem before going on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University’s Koret School of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Auerbach completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. She then went on to work as an emergency veterinarian in Israel, before moving back to the U.S., where she has worked as an emergency and general practice veterinarian in several clinics in Massachusetts and New York City. Dr. Auerbach’s special interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency & trauma medicine, and developing care plans for complex illnesses.

Outside of work, Dr. Auerbach enjoys yoga, running, long walks with her dog Lilah, skiing, and spending time with her family.

Susan Tinkham, DVM

Susan Tinkham, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Tinkham is a Massachusetts native who grew up on the South Shore. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Stonehill College in Easton MA and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University in the West Indies. Her clinical year was completed at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.


Dr. Tinkham is joining the practice after working as a general practitioner both on the South Shore and Cape Cod.

  • DVM, Ross University, 2013

Outside of work Dr. Tinkham is an avid runner and loves to be outdoors as much as possible. When not running she can be found hiking, swimming, or skiing. She shares her home with 2 Caribbean kitties Ruby and Lizzie from St. Kitts, and one lucky rabbit named Oswald.

Director of Customer Service / Hospital Manager

Caitlin has been with our team since 2012, taking care of our clients at the front desk! As the Director of Customer Service, she is here to make sure you have a great experience at our hospital. Caitlin graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a business degree in finance and management. She enjoys gardening, cooking, anything outdoors, and most sports. Caitlin lives in North Attleboro with her husband Dan, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.

 

Bonnie

Inventory Manager

Bonnie is our in-house inventory manager, but you may also see her in nurse attire caring for your pet. Since she joined Dedham Veterinary Associates in 1997, Bonnie has worked her way up from Veterinary Technician, to Technician Supervisor, to Hospital Manager’€™s Assistant, to her current position as Inventory Manager. Bonnie has continued her education throughout her career with various courses, lectures and seminars on veterinary medicine, human resources, and veterinary business management. She completed the Human Resources module on Veterinary Management at Purdue University and completed the AAHA Veterinary Management Institute program in Denver, Colorado.

Lead Veterinary Technician, CVT

Ida is our lead veterinary technician and has been a member of the DVA team for more than 3 years! She is a certified veterinary technician and also has a degree in veterinary technology from Mount Ida College, where she graduated as the class valedictorian with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is especially interested in surgery and anesthesia. When she’s not at work, Ida enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her fiancee and her pets: Rocky, Nala, and Lucky.

Lead Veterinary Technician, CVT

Elaina is our lead veterinary technician for BVS and has been a member of the DVA team since 2016! She has a degree in animal science from Mount Ida College and is a certified veterinary technician. She enjoys anesthesia, orthopedics, and working with shy or nervous pets! When she’s not working, Elaina likes going to the beach, cooking, hiking, drawing, and hanging out with her boyfriend and her 4 dogs: Lilly, Charlie, Maggie, and Penny.

Ward Nurse

Lisa has many jobs at DVA, but her main role is Ward Nurse. She is responsible for all our hospital patient’s needs and enjoys educating clients on the post-operative care of their pets.Lisa joined us in August 2007 after working for more than 14 years as a veterinary assistant at another local animal hospital.

Surgical Technician

We welcomed Marie to our practice in 2003 and she became our night nurse in 2007. We are delighted to have someone with more than 17 years of veterinary experience in such an important position! She is now one of our surgical nurses during the day. As a teenager, Marie attended Norfolk Agricultural High School, where she studied to become a veterinary assistant. She then went on to study veterinary technology at both Becker College and Mount Ida College.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Olivia joined our team in 2017 as a Client Care Associate. She is currently studying at Mount Ida College to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Prior to joining DVA, Olivia worked as a kennel manager, a dog trainer, and a veterinary technician. Since then, she has achieved her degree in Veterinary Technology and become a Certified Veterinary Technician! She has a passion for animal husbandry and expanding the bonds between pets and their owners. When she’s not at work, Olivia can be found at home reading beside her dog Hunter, or searching for her mischievous cats Peanut Butter and Daenerys.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Meet Jillian! She is a Certified Veterinary Technicians with more than 5 years of experience in the veterinary field and can’t wait to meet you and your pets! Jillian loves working with all types of animals and is especially interested in laser therapy and exotics. She lives in Bellingham with her fiance and loves spending time outside, crafting, and hanging out with her two dogs: Jack and Lucy, and her three cats: Buttons, Shea, and Mickey Moo!

Veterinary Technician

Meet Sara! She is a New Hampshire native and is a member of our Veterinary Technician Team. She has been working in the veterinary and animal field for over 5 years, including work with zoo animals at the Franklin Park Zoo. She also had the opportunity to study wild animals in Costa Rica and South America! When she’s not at work, Sara enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and spending time with her two cats, Ellie and Otis!

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Tiffany joined our team in 2017 and has been working with animals for the past 6 years. She has loved animals all her life and always dreamed of working in the veterinary field. When Tiffany is not working, she enjoys camping with her son and boyfriend, hiking with her pitbull, Stacey, or reading next to her two cats, Princess and Grizz.

Lauren joined our client care team in 2018 and has been an amazing addition to our team! She’s a Walpole native who has been interested in the veterinary field for many years. When she’s not at work, Lauren enjoys riding horses, hiking with her rescue chocolate lab, Heidi, and kayaking.

Overnight Nurse

Meet Kristyn! She joined the DVA team in 2020 as a Certified Veterinary Technician! This Auburn native comes to us with several years of experience in the veterinary field and is especially interested in learning more about cardiology and neurology. When she’s not working, Kristyn enjoys country line dancing, kayaking, traveling and spending time with her dog, Bentley, and her two cats, Miko and Milo.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Meet Kimona! She joined our team in 2020 as a Veterinary Technician Assistant. Kimona is a Kingston, Jamaica native and has over 5 years of experience working with animals in both clinical and shelter settings. She also has an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. When she’s not working, Kimona enjoys reading, hiking, yoga, making jewelry, gardening, and watching Bravo TV shows! She shares her home with an Australian Shepherd named Jameson and two cats, Archibald and Binx.
